Our Story
Founded by Dr. Laura Latéy Bradford, a double board-certified Family Physician and Lifestyle Medicine specialist, Doctoring Communities grew out of a calling to do more than diagnose and treat disease—but to also address the root causes of poor health and the systemic inequities that keep communities from thriving.
Through years of caring for patients and families across communities in Maryland, Dr. Bradford has seen firsthand that some of the most meaningful improvements in health begin with something simple: a trusted relationship. She has witnessed how knowing a patient’s story, understanding the community they live in, and walking alongside them over time can change not only how care is delivered, but also what health outcomes are possible. Those experiences shaped a deep conviction that primary care is at its best when it extends beyond the exam room and becomes a partner in the health of the whole community.
Across our community partnerships, education, thought leadership, and future initiatives, everything we build is anchored in our mission to restore relationships, advance health, and strengthen communities.
We are building a new vision for health.
We are building a movement.
